Heritage Christian Academy Eagles tipped off its 2021 basketball season on 11/5 by hosting Restoration Academy Bulldogs and Homecoming at the Eagles' Nest.
The HCA Junior Varsity lost a close battle against the Bulldogs by a final score of 39-32. Leading the scoring for the Eagles were Tyler Colley with 16 points, Ben Heath with 8 points and Anthony Nugent with 4 points. The Lady Eagles were victorious against the Lady Bulldogs with a final score of 47-40. Junior Lani Carre led the Lady Eagles with 23 points, 5 rebounds and 2 steals. Senior Katie Hart contributed 10 points, 6 rebounds and 2 steals. Senior Emily Calhoun pulled down 11 rebounds and seventh grader Leah Pace chipped in 7 points and 4 rebounds. The reigning AISA Class A State Champs Varsity Mens' team open its 2021 season with a win against the Bulldogs. Tobias Stoutermire led the Eagles with 30 points, 18 rebounds and 3 steals. Greyson Sanford also finished with a double-double with 22 points, 10 rebounds and 3 steals. Michael Hart chipped in 10 points and 3 assists. The Eagles are on the road Thursday, 11/11, taking on the Tuscaloosa Home Educators. The JV boys tip off at 4 pm, with varsity games to follow. Go Eagles!
